💧 How It Plays
The First Sliver leads a five-color combo strategy supported by mana acceleration, card draw, and tutors. Cards such as Mystic Remora, Rhystic Study, and Ad Nauseam help you gather resources while you prepare a protected opportunity to assemble your win.
Food Chain pairs with creatures you can cast from exile—such as Eternal Scourge, Misthollow Griffin, or Squee, the Immortal—to generate unlimited mana for creature spells. This engine supports repeated casts of The First Sliver, using its cascade ability to access more pieces of your deck.
Thassa’s Oracle with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact provides a compact victory route, while Underworld Breach, Lion’s Eye Diamond, and Brain Freeze offer another combo engine. Silence, Force of Will, and other interaction help protect your attempt. The strategy rewards careful sequencing, resource management, and knowing exactly when to commit.
