🔩 How It Plays
Commander: Mendicant Core, Guidelight
Establish your mana and deploy artifact cost reducers, token producers, and card-draw engines. Your growing collection of artifacts supports the deck’s synergies and increases Mendicant Core’s power.
Mendicant Core starts your speed at 1 if you have none. Once started, making an opponent lose life during your turn can increase your speed once that turn, up to 4.
At max speed, with Mendicant Core on the battlefield, casting an artifact spell lets you pay one mana to copy it. The copy becomes a token as it resolves, giving you another machine or support piece.
Use your expanding artifact board to apply combat pressure, while counterspells, protection, and artifact recovery help sustain your engine. Choosing what to copy—and when to keep mana available—shapes each turn.
